Step 1 - Finding your ideal park
The first step to achieving your ideal lifestyle is to find your ideal park and choose a vacant plot. We recommend you visit as many parks as possible to get a true feel for the different types of parks available. Once you have decided on a park, you can secure a plot by placing a deposit, which will hold the plot for an agreed period of time. This allows you to sell your current property and sort out the finer details of choosing your new park home.
Step 2 - Selling your current home
The next step, if you haven’t already done so, is to place your current property for sale. You can take advantage of our Moving Made Easy and Park Exchange Schemes.
Step 3 - Thinking about your new home requirements
It’s now time to think about the design and style of your new home. As all new homes are built to order, we can accommodate changes such as positioning of doors and windows to suit the plot you have chosen. Also consider the position and number of power sockets, TV points, etc. It’s often a good idea to start a list, so you can jot down ideas as you think of them.
Step 4 - Designing your new home
This is where the fun really starts! You may have been to the Tingdene Visitor Centre before to get ideas and inspiration on how your new home could look, but not it’s time to put that into practice and design your new home.
A Tingdene representative sits down with you to guide you through every detail of your new home: from the colour of the guttering to the choice of curtain and furniture fabrics. Going through room by room really illustrates the detail that goes into making your home individual. Once you have finished designing your home, we prepare a detailed specification and floor plan with costings, which is then posted out to you.
Step 5 - Progressing your house sale
Communication is key to a smooth transaction so please keep us informed of any developments on the sale of your current property. Once you have found a buyer, please let us know so we are able to keep track of progress and start to plan ahead for the production of your new home. Once you have received confirmation on exchanging contracts and possible completion dates, we can then start the process of building your new home.
Step 6 - Approaching the day of completion
A few weeks before the completion date, we write to you with the proposed date your new home will be ready for you to move into. Now is the time to book the removals people, inform the utility companies and plan your celebration.
Step 7 - The Big Day
After all the dreaming, planning and preparation, the big day has finally arrived! The keys to your new home are handed over. A representative from the Tingdene park meets you on the day of completion and finalises the paperwork before showing you around your new home. They explain how the appliances work and answer any questions that you may have.
Congratulations
The keys to your new home are handed over, it’s time to crack open the Champagne!
